Mainstream media entering online video

After the Google-YouTube deal it looks like old-school players are waking up to the wonders of online video. Dow Jones Online and CNN Money recently launched their online video channels.

The Dow Jones video channel is divided into four main sections: news, analysis, pursuits and special reports. The CNN Money video channel, on the other hand, features short documentaries, interviews and world news.

Bob Leverone, vice president of Dow Jones commented: “Dow Jones broadband video is engaging the total news organization, putting a face on our journalists and showcasing our team’s depth of reporting. Credibility is key, especially in business and financial news, and where better to start with video programming than our trusted reporters, editors and columnists.”
