		<description>I agree with both perspectives, to a degree. The mainstream media (in my case, the NYT, WSJ, Harvard Business Review, Business Week) are prime sources of information on a wide variety of subjects. And lots of good blog postings are inspired by those sources.

Yet the blogosphere (especially outside of politics) is becoming a much deeper resource than just links to interesting articles in the Times. Regarding innovation in particular, I&#039;ve been directed to less-filtered, more original content via this blog and others than I would have ever seen in the mainstream media. In this case, focus and passion enable really great dialogue and learning.

Which is a lot different from the general overviews, however useful, provided by the mainstream media.

I think you need both, and minimizing either one is a mistake.</description>
